Change Default Program in Windows 10/11

A default program is a preferred application primarily used. For example, you may have an application you prefer to use when sending and receiving emails. Selecting default programs allows your computer to use the programs you choose when doing something.

There are several ways of accessing your default programs. Pick one of the following:

  • The direct route is: SETTINGS -> APPS -> DEFAULT APPS.

  • Search for Default Apps.

Then scroll down the list until you see the app you prefer to use all the time and select it. If available to change, click the SET DEFAULT button.
