Ending Technical Support To Non-Members

Are you currently subscribed to a MyITAssistant service? If so, you are recognized as a member of MyITAssistant.

MyITAssistant is a premium member-based managed technology company dedicated to serving its members. To ensure our members receive support priority, we discontinued all technical support, remote and onsite, to non-members on April 15th, 2022.

Best Browser: Brave Browser

Big on privacy, security, and not a fan of ads? We recommend members switch to the Brave browser over Google Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

Best Search Engine: DuckDuckGo

Google Search may be the most popular search engine and its advertising solution the largest globally, but that may not suit you. Its geared toward businesses and paid advertisements, using the information gathered from tracking personal users in everything they do.

DuckDuckGo is our choice for our members to use. Step away from being profiled and advertised to, and regain your privacy with DuckDuckGo.

Annual Reminder: Update Your Passwords

We recommend passwords be changed minimally on an annual basis. If your passwords have not been changed/updated within the last year, this is an excellent opportunity to get started.

Start with email, social media, and financial accounts, as they are the most targeted by criminals and bots.

Use a password manager? It might be a good time to look into one.

AVOID USING Yandex

Yandex is a very popular Russian search engine, similar to what Google is for the United States. As most search engines do, users metadata is collected and stored. Yandex stores collected information on Russian servers.

Be safe and avoid using Yandex for searching on your computer or phone.

Time to Upgrade to Windows 11

Windows 11 came out last year, and we've given our thumbs up to upgrade if you have not done so already. Windows 11 has officially worked out all the kinks with its latest update. If you need assistance or guidance, please let us know.

Time to Upgrade to macOS12.0 Monterey

Mac's Monterey came out last year, and we've given our thumbs up to upgrade if you have not done so already. We recommend checking compatibility first - Apple Store should not allow the download or installation if not compatible. If you need assistance or guidance, please let us know.
