Windows 7 & 8 – Deadline to Stay Updated

Looks like Microsoft is now pushing users of Windows 7 and 8 to upgrade to Windows 8.1, and Windows 8.1 to

upgrade to Windows 8.1 Update. Windows 8.1 Update was released today, giving users 5-weeks to perform the update to Windows 8.1 Update. It is understood that users not upgrade to the latest version will not receive new bug fixes, security patches and featured enhancements. The first patch is expected to release May 13, 2014.

We encourage all Windows users to upgrade to Windows 8.1 Upgrade as soon as possible. We have seen lots of improvements, which we will share in the upcoming days.

Interesting enough this sounds very much like an End-of-Life declaration to Windows Vista, 7, 8 RTM and 8.1 RTM, with Microsoft no longer producing updates to the operating system.
