Why it matters

File sync tools are genuinely useful, but they are not backup. When a file is encrypted or deleted, the change is faithfully copied everywhere within seconds, and the good version goes with it.

FAQ
Common questions.
Doesn't OneDrive or Google Drive already back up my files?
Those keep your files in sync across devices, which is useful but different. If a file is deleted or encrypted, the change syncs everywhere quickly. Backup keeps separate copies from earlier points in time so there is always a clean version to return to.
How does this help against ransomware?
Your backup copies are kept apart from the machines being protected, so an attack on a computer does not reach them. If files are encrypted, we restore the clean versions from before the incident.
Will backups slow our computers or internet down?
The first copy is the largest and we pace it so it goes unnoticed. After that, only the parts of files that changed are sent, which is a very small amount of traffic.
How quickly can something be recovered?
A single file or folder is usually back within minutes of you asking. A full computer takes longer, since replacement hardware has to be prepared, and we manage that process with you.
Why back up Microsoft 365 if Microsoft already hosts it?
Microsoft keeps the service running, but the content in your accounts is your responsibility. Deleted mail, removed files, and closed accounts fall outside short retention windows. A separate copy closes that gap.
Who can see our data?
The information is encrypted before it leaves your equipment and stays encrypted while stored. We access it only to perform a recovery you have asked for.
Do you check that backups are actually working?
Yes, and this is the part most setups miss. Completion is reviewed regularly, failures are followed up, and restores are tested so the copy is proven rather than assumed.
